Cubo Connect: Meet Nick Ryles

Tell us about yourself?

Hi, I’m Nick Ryles. I live in Antrim town and have done all my life. I like the town with being it close to the Lough Shore and Castle Gardens as I like to unwind on family walks with the dog. I’m 41 and I’ve been married 3 years. I have a 13 year old boy and an 8 month old girl along with a 3 year old German Sheperd.

My hobbies are playing football socially with friends. I retired playing for any teams about 6 years ago – I wanted to eat pizza and drink beer on Friday evenings instead of preparing for Saturdays match. I also enjoy taking my car on track days and drag racing events.

Previously, I worked for the online bike retailer Chain Reaction Cycles for 13 years.

Favourite holiday destination?

My favourite is Disneyland in Florida – it’s just so insane with the vastness of the park, the hotels rides and scenery.

Favourite Movie and TV show?

I really love Back to the Future but also like the original Fast & the Furious – I stopped counting how many times I’ve watched after I got to 100.

Favourite food & drink?

Nice German beers, sweet ciders or Gin & Tonics. And for food it’s Pizza, Chocolate and crisps.

Favourite social media platform?

I wouldn’t say favourite but there isn’t much of an alternative to Facebook.

Have you ever met anyone famous?

Vick Hope (Calvin Harris’s wife), Jurgen Klinsmann, Jackie Fullerton and Eamonn Holmes.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

To fly.

If you could meet any living person for dinner, who would you pick and why?

Robert Downey Jr. so we could talk about his movie roles. I loved him as Iron Man and in Tropic Thunder.

What would be your walkout song in front of a packed crowd?

‘Shipping up to Boston’ – The song Joe Biden walked out to when he visited County Mayo

How long have you been at Cubo and what is your role?

I’ve been with Cubo for 6 months in my role as customer service advisor for our Comms customers.

Favourite thing about working at Cubo?

Helping our customers with their issues and requests as efficiently as possible.

What’s your favourite piece of work advice you’ve ever received?

Just get on with it!

Nick Ryles
